RESULTS

The expected results of SIPAS project include the development of new educational content, the establishment of physical and digital infrastructure, and the enhancement of institutional governance.

The following is a list of the expected project results:

1. Educational Modules and Curriculum Development

  • Four innovative study modules will be developed and delivered:

M1: Implementation of virtual and augmented reality (AR/VR) applications for the tourism sector (a fully new module).

M2: Stakeholder engagement and partnership for smart and more resilient tourism.

M3: Entrepreneurship and green competencies for greening and sustainable tourism business.

M4: Economic and business trends in Asia (aimed at master level and lifelong learners).

  • Each of the four modules will consist of at least two study courses, totalling approximately 32 ECTS.
  • The update of 10 existing courses and 2 study programs.
  • Development of new teaching materials, including textbooks, manuals, handbooks, and multimedia content.

2. Infrastructure and Technological Integration

  • Establishment of two "I Labs" (Innovation Labs) equipped with modern AR/VR tools at the National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM) and Pondicherry University (PU) in India.
  • Integration of ICT and E-Governance mechanisms to support academic administration, including admissions and examinations.

3. Training and Capacity Building

  • Training for 20 academic staff members from India on innovative teaching methods, such as Living Labs, problem-solving, and prototyping.
  • Training for 10 administrative staff members from India to improve administrative efficacy and planning of the study process.
  • Capacity building for staff in international mobility procedures and intercultural experience management.

4. Strategic Partnerships and Governance

  • Establishment of two Industry Advisory Boards (one in Hyderabad and one in Pondicherry) to ensure curriculum relevance to the labor market.
  • Implementation of a systematic performance appraisal system for staff and faculty.
  • Creation of a Global Exchange and Collaboration Framework to facilitate ongoing international academic and industry engagement.

5. Impact and Dissemination

  • A total of 577 students in India are expected to benefit directly from the new and improved study modules.
  • Organization of two international conferences to share findings and recommendations with academic audiences and policymakers.
  • Launch of a project website and a digital library to provide open access to project materials and results.
  • Participation in two education fairs (one domestic and one international) in India to promote the new study programs.
